We have found a DOS
editor, that was way ahead of its time. It featured Virtual Memory,
Macro Recording, Hit Edit Mode, Regular Expressions. In those
times, most editors needed a line number before they could proceed.
This DOS editor was an excellent product. Any
computer user we have showed it to, switched to it. It was better then
anything we had before, no contest. So we set out to rewrite that
editor to run under 32-bit Windows. The results are this stunning
editing tool, that is simple, works cleanly, does exactly what one
expects. A tool that handles hundred megabytes of data with ease.
We paid attention to lay the foundation right.
Listened to users and programmers, asked them what they want. And
implemented it. For example: To our extreme surprise we learned that
mainstream editors do not have a single keystroke to select a word. Or
a single keystroke to capitalize it. Or uncapitalize it.
So we implemented them in the Wed Editor. And we implemented a
lot more. We hope that the results will please you. The Wed team.
